This is the mid 90s period when high-speed internet was getting to be more available in the west, but still in its infancy in India. So was the cell phone / mobile phone as it is often referred here.

Ravi, Mohan, Vijay and myself (Balu) all finished our schooling in the Middle east and took up University education in the South of India, being from the region. Hema, Latha, Jaya and Banu are our moms, we did not have any siblings and Lalitha another friend of our families also from the middle east had two daughters who were married off but visited about the same time when all our moms visited India. We are 5 families with the male spouses working in the middle east.
