The balcony door stood wide open at midnight. City lights from Andheri glowed belowācars honking far down, neon signs flashing pink and blue. Wind carried smoke from street food carts and distant rain smell. No railing high enough to hide anything. Anyone looking up from windows opposite or street could see clearāfull view if they stared.
Karan dragged a low wooden chair to the edgeāright against railing. Lights on fullātwo bright bulbs overhead. No dark corners tonight.
