The balcony door stood wide open at midnight. City lights from Andheri glowed belowβcars honking far down, neon signs flashing pink and blue. Wind carried smoke from street food carts and distant rain smell. No railing high enough to hide anything. Anyone looking up from windows opposite or street could see clearβfull view if they stared.
Karan dragged a low wooden chair to the edgeβright against railing. Lights on fullβtwo bright bulbs overhead. No dark corners tonight.
